One of the most difficult misconceptions about Bitcoin is that bitcoin works either as a battery or as a multiplier for dollars.

When people say "money flows into bitcoin", this is mistaken, there are no money flowing into Bitcoin, they end up in the hands (bank accounts or suitcases) of people the sold Bitcoin.

In this way, if you buy Bitcoin, you can't lose dollars on it, the dollars were never there.

A much better frame is understanding that you are exchanging one form of money for another. If you get BTC, you are in sats, not in usd/eur/czk/pyg/...
