Technologies are not the problem. Either they are useful or they will fade out.

Problem is the misallocation of capital in the fiat world, which creates systemic problems in the economy, to such a large extent that even the technological development can't counter it fully.

Technological development is decentralized, people will do it and there's no way to direct it towards the "non myopic" uses - it develops in all possible directions and then tested on the market for long term usability.

The problem is central planning of the economy. It kills price signals, misallocates capital to unproductive uses and can't be countered when it's (mis)managed from the center.

This is why bitcoin is useful. As people switch to the bitcoin economy, the mismanaged part gets worse, but in bitcoin economy, we can do normal economic planning and achieve real growth.

The economy will split into two areas - the declining fiat world, and ascending bitcoin world. It's already happening.

The only question is - when will you make the switch?
